Another week starting like always with Joe kicking my butt in HIIT class then WD shopping this time with Ellie and Mimi. Getting her all set for the week. Then, the kids all had their dental check up appointment. Afternoon thunderstorms to cool it all off. I had a DA PTA meeting to go through the budget for next year. I’m just going to have to get used to this new group of people. Tuesday, Abby and I got up and had our first volunteer opportunity with the National Charity League. We helped weed the garden at Berry Farms, pruned and planted basil, Abby picked flowers for tea and then we planted lettuce seeds. Then we explored the farm with horses, pigs, chickens and bunnies. It was a nice morning together. I was inspired and did some weeding in our front yard: the jungle. Narly ant bites to show for it! We played pickle ball with Abby and Voss that night after dinner with my mom. We had these baked tacos. Ellie went to babysit. Wednesday morning I met the JWJ audit team for breakfast and to sign that audit. It took me until Sunday morning to submit it, waiting on official membership numbers. Abby had a babysitting gig. Ellie and I went for her senior pictures! It’s real! We’ve been talking a lot about colleges this week. She may have shifted her focus to FL schools, especially if she can qualify for Bright Futures. That night I went out to see Marly mid Plunge week for a mass at St. Pauls. She was singing in the choir! Thursday I went to HIIT with Will then later took mom to lunch with her friend, Elaine. She’s such a sweet woman. Friday I took Spot running listening to the Wedding People then Ellie, Abby and I picked mom up for pedicures and lunch at Chicken Salad Chick. It was such a nice ladies afternoon out! That evening Phil and I went to listen to Michael Kirwan then had a TCC dinner with the Deerings, Freemans and Strassers: a lobster pre-game. Saturday morning Abby had a gym class while I had breakfast with her school friend moms. My friend, Liz came over for a visit, she was touring schools with her daughter. We took the boat to TCC for lunch. It was such a nice visit. Phil and Voss played golf. Ellie went to babysit. Phil and I picked Marly up from Urban Plunge and heard all about her week: paving a walkway, painting, yard work and building a wheelchair ramp. She had an awesome time! We took her out for ice cream then came home to pack up. Sunday morning we went to mass, had an awful breakfast at Panera then hit the road to drive to Miami. I think we were all in a funk. The drive took long. My book was too spicy for the guys. Phil’s ragaton was too loud for me. We dropped Spot, picked up Phil’s parents then met tia Vane and her family at a cute (yet hot and fishy) outdoor cafe at Matheson Hammock park. We had a nice catchup (and calamari and mussels)! Bedtime for all and 10 hours of sleep for me! Here are the pics of the week.
