This was a big Birthday week! Monday I had a women on the water day to celebrate my pal, Jess. Perfect (and much needed) day to take the boat out. That evening, Phil and I went to the Mazda dealership with Ellie and got her car! She’s saved $12+ in the last 5 years for this day! I’m so proud of her! She turned 16 on Tuesday! I let her skip that morning (missing another stupid state test) and went to the tax collector to get her license! It was a bit more stressful than anticipated but we had a CFA breakfast while we waited and the poof! She drove off to school! I teared up a bit before getting it together. Went for a walk and worked on PTA stuff. Phil left for a bank meeting in Tampa on Wednesday morning. Ellie’s driving came just in time because I needed her help! I had a PTSA board meeting Wednesday morning then did my own HIIT workout at the gym. Swim practice pick up, trombone and dance then I headed downtown for dinner with the girls and then Les Miserables. I’d seen the show before but it hit differently this time. Maybe following Peter Pan, but it was so good! Borrowed my friend, Liz’s shimmery dress right from the show for Friday night. Thursday my friend Ann Marie worked us out at MomCo. Full circle in MOPS, just love it! I dashed from there to middle school lunch to get students to sign a pedestrian safety pledge. Dance and soccer drop offs then to Marly’s first swim meet. She rocked the IM and close seconds to Fletcher middle, maybe the most difficult team this season. I started White Lotus and have been wasting time binging. So good. Friday I went to HIIT then tennis then put together a balloon arch. That evening we threw a Sweet 16 Birthday party for Ellie at the club. It was a wonderful party! She had about 20 girlfriends from school, church, youth group, etc. DJ Soph spun some tunes. Delicious veggie dinner on the water and then we danced the night away. Saturday morning Ellie drove herself to dance, Phil took the kids bday gift shopping, I went to mass and then a Lenten retreat at church. A great conversation about what is in our cup, for when we get bumped. I dipped out in time to see Voss work the soccer field. The team lost but he played great. I took Abby to a Birthday party on the south side. Phil took Voss to a paintball party on the westside. Ellie drove a minivan of 8th graders to Cotillion on the north side. I closed my ring walking in the parking lot and listening to Table for Two while Abby ate habachi with friends. Later Phil and I went on a date for craft beer and sushi. Sunday morning mass, religion class then I went to watch tennis while the family went to breakfast. I got to see a bunch of friends play while sipping a bloody. Happy Sunday! Family soccer then the Penance service and Five Guys for dinner. Here are the pics of the week.
