I went back to tennis clinic on Monday! Whew who! It was great! I'm still scared to run to some short shots or chase down a lob, but it was a great start. I did a day of fasting for dementia prevention and holy week so I probably wasn't very fun to be around. Matt and I had an intervention with my mom and took her checkbook away. Now working on automating everything and paying overdue bills. We had a week getting everything together for her taxes but happy to say it's done. Tuesday was a big testing day for all the kids. Ellie took the SAT at school and the other 3 took the state writing exam. I ran to shuffle snacks for the middle school prep bags. Abby had her first middle school swim meet that afternoon. I was a runner while doing a zoom kick off for the weight loss study Phil and I are doing. That was chaotic. Abby did great in the meet! Lots of first places! It's great that she doesn't have to dive off of a starting block. Mom came for dinner and said she found her passport! One huge thing off our plate! Wednesday was Ellie's Birthday. I did a HIIT class then went to school to surprise her. I planned a flash mob to Abba's Dancing Queen with a few of her PE teachers, a PTSA mom friend and 5 of her friends (although none of the friends danced with us). I brought her favorite key lime pie. I thought it was cute but she came home crying. I guess some of her "friends" were mean to her about it. Such jerks. She came home early and we watched all her Birthday videos, which was sweet. She went to dance. We went to celebrate Matt's Birthday. A saintly friend got Abby very early for her Epcot trip on Thursday. I picked up the crew at 8pm that night. Full and fun day it sounds. We met the Strassers for a nightcap to kick off the long Easter weekend. No school for Good Friday. We set out the Stations of the Cross for kids and then went through as a family, well, minus Marly. She was babysitting Penelope. We took the older two to lunch at Trents. I went for a ruck walk. Phil played tennis. Voss met Chris to go trail biking and to play soccer. Ellie got a Birthday massage from Sherry. Abby enjoyed a quiet, chill afternoon. Later, we met the Thortons out for dinner. We dropped Voss to play with Mabel and picked them up. Crazy that we've known them for so long, since the kids were in Pre-K but this was our first time out. It was lots of fun, with some bar hopping. Saturday we had a chill day. We rode bikes to the pool and concocted a dinner out plan. Steph told us about this new place, Sophias. We rode with the Deerings and met the Freeman and Strassers out with a nightcap back at the Freemans. Easter Sunday we got up, did Easter baskets and went to mass. I was a nervous wreck as mom almost made us late to mass because she wouldn't stop blowing leaves! Ellie and I read. The other kids altar served. Spot ate all the candy out of Phil and my Easter baskets while we were at mass. RIP Cadburry eggs! We all went over to mom's for a ham lunch. Suzanne made a breakfast casserole and fruit and was so excited to drink again after Lent. Marly made a lemon cake. Tara brought bacon and fresh picked strawberries. We did an Easter egg hunt with cash in the eggs. That was fun for the kids. Marly found the $5 one in a hole I hid it in. Later we went to the Freemans for a lamb dinner. It was the perfect nightcap to Easter. Here are the pics of the week.
