On Monday morning, I flew across the country to meet my newest nephew, Conrad. I forget how far away California is...but thank God for airplanes! The Kukla fam rolled out the red carpet of hospitality for me. Uncle Steve made gourmet dinners each night. Katie shared all the baby snuggles with me, along with her clothes and night serum (since I saved on luggage fees). Coronado is just gorgeous. There was a chill. The vegetation turned me into a crazy plant lady, envious of all the color! East coast time zone means I got one on one time with Henry in the morning with cartoons and hot, quiet coffee. I got some babysitting time so Katie could go to her six week check up and then Tom Cruise came into town for the new Top Gun movie release. It was so nice to catch up with them and snuggle my west coast nephews. They are doing such a great job adjusting to two kiddos. Katie is a nursing champ! The red eye is the way to get back, but man I was a zombie on Friday! Thankful for relaxation meditation podcasts and remind me to bring an eye cover next time. (Rookie mistake, I know). Meanwhile, the village came out to help drive my children all over for the afternoon hustle. Phil had to stay home with Abby one day while she nursed a stomach bug (or took a personal day...verdict is still out). Thankfully everyone was feeling better when I returned...but it was a busy week with teacher appreciation week and FSAs! Dreamette after school ice cream to the rescue while Ellie went to youth group. Sushi and martinis for dinner at TCC with the Freemans. I was so happy to sleep in on Saturday. Marly made omelettes. She and Abby went to the Home of the Mother retreat. Addy came over to play after while Phil and I played tennis with the VanWies and Napoleons. Ellie babysat AM. Phil and I went to the Peebles Derby party. So flattered to have been included! We got to sleep in again on Sunday. Happy Mother's Day! Marly made chocolate chip pancakes. I am excited to use my chore coupons...although I've already used the "no fighting for 30min". Abby and Voss helped me with the chicken and shrimp kabobs. We grilled them at my parents then went for a boat ride and rubing. Trying to get the older kids to get checked out on the boat. It ended up being Phil taking the kids tubing. Oh the chaos! We went to 5pm mass then Chipotle for dinner. Early bedtime for all to prep for another busy week. Here are the pics of the week.
