Spooky fun all week long. I listened to Frankenstein and finished reading The Housemaid in the middle of the night. I drove carpool this week. Voss and I were a bit late for flag raising on Monday. Then I went to clinic and then WD, my usual Monday routine. I picked up Ellie from swim and took Voss to cub scouts and picked up the girls from dance. So. Much. Candy. I was hoping they would have done the Thriller dance in class but it was just random costume night. I didn't get into the Tuesday match so it worked out that there was a SAC meeting. I took Spot on a run and made an appointment for my hip. I had a Nutcracker marketing lunch and went to my first Dream Party. So special! Phil took the middles to the middle school homecoming game. I had a peaceful evening with just Voss at soccer and Ellie at dance. Ellie spent the night out on a school night because she got to skip school on Wednesday to swim butterfly and a 500 free at the district swim meet. Phil skipped out of work to cheer her on. Early release day for the others. I took Voss to get two cavities filled. Oh the drama! Trombone, walking and dance. I'm already picking up candy wrappers everywhere. Kerri and I dressed as tennis fairies on Halloween, wearing the girls barbie dance tutus from the last recital. I volunteered for the book fair and got Voss some fresh books. That inspired me to clear out some of the stuff they've been reading. Halloween was different this year. The kids all had friends to attend to so Phil and I were left just hanging out. It was both sad and nice. No family costume. No stopping at my parent's house or even going down our street. We dropped Ellie to get ready with friends for a party. Marly at a friend's, Abby at a friend's and then we walked with Voss and one of his friend's parents for most of the time. We did see Abby a few times but not Marly at all. It was fun to visit friends and have our hands free. A new era. We picked up all the kids from all the friends' houses and came home for the candy trade. I watched Frankenstein, the old classic one which is significantly worse than the book. I let the kids sleep in a bit to go to 8:30 All Saints Day mass and then go late to school. Our carpool neighbor, Bentley came with us, too. I took some friends out for a boat day. The weather was perfect. Maybe a bit hot but then I'd just pick up the pace. I did get into trouble with Phil for not answering my phone when one of the busses didn't show, leaving some kids stranded. It all worked itself out and Ellie came to the rescue along with one of our fave history teachers. I took Ellie to a Diwali party and then met my sister for a Kamala party. It was so nice to see friends at the party that I didn't realize were liberal. Saturday morning we took it easy. Voss had a soccer game and we all came to cheer him on. The girls and I left a bit early for Nutcracker. Dolly, SQ and I walked and talked. The angels hitched a ride home with the cherubs due to babysitting gigs. FL GA is a hot weekend to babysit! Marly also had a gig that night. We took the littles to Lillians to watch the Gators loose (FSU wasn't even on TV so there's that). We fell back an hour and were still late to mass. Talking about being thankful in CCD class then bfast at TCC. Phil took Voss to a make up soccer game and Marly to Confirmation class. Ellie had a dance class. I dipped out with my friend, Meredith to see the school music teacher in a local musical, Lizzie. Wow! She was amazing! We met back up for family soccer. Ahi sushi bowls for dinner and early bedtime for all! Here are the pics of the week.
